I remember a few years ago (2015?) a pure white horse threw its rider and ran into the river near Landy Green Way. The fire brigade commanded a boat and rescued said horse.
My favourite part of the River Nene is the backwater near Castor Mill. Peaceful and hidden with bob's bridge with the perfect swimming spot.
