My contribution is a poem written in September 2018 when I established a 'writing for well being' group to document the changing seasons and encourage people to spend time outdoors in natural surroundings. We began by observing the river Nene's journey.
Watch the river flow
Slow down
Watch the river flow
Intent upon
Its steady journey.
Turn towards
the late summer sun,
Light reflected
In the silver river.
Tune in
To a gentle percussion
Of tapping and clicking
As reeds bob in the breeze.
Slow down
There is no need to hurry.
